Sponsor a Resident
If you love cats but are unable to have one of your own then why not sponsor one of our very deserving long-term residents!
Although Bristol's League for Cats was originally set up to rescue and re-home Bristol's stray and needy cats, along the way we have always tried to help cats that were unable to find help elsewhere, those that were elderly, sick, feral or difficult in temperament. Many of these cats are difficult to re-home because of their ongoing health and behavioral problems.
By sponsoring a cat you can help contribute towards the costs of food, heating, vet bills and providing stimulation such as toys and play pens.
Your sponsorship can be a one off payment or regular installments and how much you donate is your decision. There is no pressure to continue a sponsorship and we are very grateful to all sponsors.
Your sponsorship can help these cats in the long term and will go toward their care in one of our foster facilities.
As part of your sponsorship you will receive:
* Sponsorship certificate
* Annual membership
* A copy of our regular newsletter
* A Xmas card from your sponsored cat
If you would like to sponsor one of our long term residents then please telephone us on 0117 9600304 for more details
Fig
Fig came into our care with a severe injury caused by his collar. After staying at the vet for several weeks he moved into his foster home where he is now settled however after his traumatizing ordeal he has never recovered very well and has a very nervous predisposition. Therefore he is not suitable for re homing as is a long term resident of the charity. Despite being nervous around humans he lives very happily with the other long term residents.
Minnie
Minnie came into our care after a tragic chain of events. Her owner died and she was fed by neighbours for a while but was then injured when she was hit by a car. She suffered a badly broken leg which has now healed. Minnie is 13 years old and suffers from borderline hyperthyroidism which means she needs regular blood tests which the charity funds, however as many animal owners will appreciate, this costs a large amount so sponsors would primarily help to fund the vital treatment that minnie needs.
April
April is a friendly cat who is in our care however she tends to display strange behaviors that make her unsuitable for re homing and therefore she is a long term resident of the charity.
Nelly
Nelly originally came into our care with his brother who unfortunately died. However she is a very playful cat who is always on the look out for her escape route. She likes the comfort of indoors only if she can be her wild independent self. She is part of the family on her terms!
Marty
Marty is a very timid cat who is around 2 years old. He isn't sociable so is therefore a long term resident.
Louis and Eli
Louis is the brother of Eli. He is a beautiful cat however is not currently suitable for re homing as he needs to become more socialised.
Eli was born outside. He is around 2 years old but is not very sociable. He has a brother called Louis.
Gerald
Gerald in 10-11 years old however he is not a very sociable cat so is not suitable for re-homing.
Desmond
Desmond has been in our care for 4 years. He has an aggressive nature and is therefore not suitable for re homing.
Boris
Boris is around 13 years old and suffers from eczema. He has been in our care for around 4 years but he is not very sociable due to his past misfortunes.
Lilia
Lilia (aged 7 years)
Lilia is a dear little feral who had been caught in a trap and lost her leg and tail. We worried she would not make it but the vets did a wonderful job and she now lives happily with the other cats.
Katie
This feral girl is still very nervous but happily interact with the other cats. She enjoy being in the garden area where she enjoys climbing and have a good scratch on their logs.
Billy & Milly
(tabby & torti, aged 8 years)
Billy (pictured left) and Milly are a brother and sister act that came to us as hissing and spitting bundles of fur - they have now settled in well as domestic cats but still don't like being picked up.
Georgina
(black & white, aged 5 years)
A feral living a rough existence came into our care along with her 3 babies who had been born under a conifer. All of the kittens have now found loving homes but Georgina still enjoys her feral lifestyle (although in the lap of luxury in Debra's garden complete with kennel and hot water bottle)!

Sidney
Sidney is an old boy who wandered into the garage on the main road at Longwell Green. At the time he was very underweight and had rotten teeth. He has settled very well into the long term home and would love a sponsor of his own!
